Where it fits
The cabinet stands just over six feet tall on a small footprint, so it fits in a kitchen corner, an apartment living room or a heated cabin. Measure your ceiling first, especially under a loft or a sloped roof. The shipping weight is 129 lb, so plan help to bring it inside. At a cabin, the pump and lights need steady power and the room must stay above freezing. If your cabin runs on solar, our complete solar kits and batteries are a place to start.
Getting started
Start your seeds in the nursery, then move them into the towers. Check the water level and add nutrients on a regular schedule. Begin with herbs and leafy greens, the easiest crops, before you try flowers or small vegetables. When the included consumables run low, you can reorder monthly supplies. Ready for more towers? Frequently asked questions
Does the ZipGarden need assembly?
No. It arrives at your door fully assembled. You only need to place it near an outlet and fill the reservoir.
How many plants can it grow?
The product page does not give a number of plant sites. It lists three 4-ft towers and a nursery for 24 seedlings. Call us if you want more detail before you order.
Can I grow more than lettuce?
Yes. Herbs and leafy greens are the main crops, but the ZipGarden is also designed for flowers and small vegetables.
