Stainless Steel Food Dehydrators

Dry vegetables, fruit, jerky and pet treats in a 100% stainless steel tray dehydrator. Choose from a 10-tray home unit up to a 60-tray, 3-zone commercial model. Every unit has 304 food-grade stainless steel mesh trays, adjustable heat up to 90°C and a 99-hour digital timer.

Trays and zones explained

The number of trays sets how much food you can load at once. Zones are the separate drying sections in the cabinet. A 1-zone unit is one open drying space; the 2-zone and 3-zone models split a large cabinet into sections. Ask us how the zones work on a given model before you plan mixed batches.

  • 1 zone: 10CUDG (10 trays) and 16CUDG (16 trays)

  • 2 zones: 28CUDG (28 trays), plus 32V-CUDG and 32H-CUDG (32 trays each; the 32H is the horizontal version)

  • 3 zones: 60CUDG (60 trays)

Home or commercial?

The 10CUDG is built for ongoing home use. It suits a family garden, hunting season jerky or a cottage kitchen. The 16-tray and larger models are designed for ongoing commercial use: market gardeners, small farms, caterers and anyone who needs to dry a big harvest in a few days. Power requirements are not listed on these product pages, so call us to confirm before you order, especially if you live off-grid.

What can you dry?

Vegetables, fruit, jerky and pet treats are the usual jobs. Forced-air convection and mesh trays let warm air reach both sides of the food. Non-stick mats, sold separately, are handy for fruit leather, flour and grains, and they cut cleaning time.

Dehydrator or freeze dryer?

A dehydrator dries with warm moving air. It costs much less and is great for jerky, chips and dried fruit, but the food turns chewier. A freeze dryer removes water under vacuum and keeps more of the original texture, even for cooked meals, but it costs more and needs more space. Many homesteads use both. Our food preservation guide compares the two.

Frequently asked questions

What temperature range do these dehydrators have?

All six models adjust from room temperature up to 90°C, and all have a 99-hour digital timer, so you can set a long batch and come back hours later.

Do I need non-stick mats?

Not for most foods. The stainless mesh trays work on their own for sliced vegetables, fruit and jerky. Mats help with purées, fruit leather, flour and grains, and they are dishwasher safe.

Can I run a dehydrator off-grid?

It depends on your system. Since wattage is not listed on these product pages, call us with the model you want and we will look at it against your inverter and battery bank. Have a licensed electrician add any new circuit.
