Off-Grid Energy Solutions: Solar Kits, Inverters, Batteries and Panels
Make and store your own power, away from the grid. Shop complete off-grid solar kits, or build your own system with Longi solar panels, Pytes, Volthium and Energy Pak lithium batteries, and LuxPower or Growatt inverters. OffGrid Nexus is based in Trois-Rivières, Quebec, and ships across Canada.
How an off-grid solar system fits together
An off-grid power system has four main parts that work as one:
Solar panels turn sunlight into DC power.
A charge controller manages that power and charges the batteries. All-in-one inverters such as the Growatt SPF-DVM series have an MPPT charge controller built in.
Batteries store the energy for nights, cloudy days and winter.
An inverter converts battery power into split-phase AC for your electrical panel and appliances.
Add a PV disconnect, cabling and a mount, and you have a working system. A backup generator is a sensible addition for long stretches of cloudy weather.
Kit or separate components?
A complete solar kit is the simplest route. Panels, batteries, inverter, PV disconnect and cables are matched for you, in sizes from a weekend cabin to a full house with a workshop. Separate components make sense when you are expanding an existing system, replacing one part, or need a size that falls between two kits.
Planning for life off the grid in Canada
Size for winter. Solar production drops sharply on short, snowy days. If you live on site all year, plan your panels and batteries for December.
Protect batteries from the cold. Choose a battery with built-in heating, such as the Volthium or Energy Pak, or keep the bank in a space that stays warm.
Think about 240 V loads. Many well pumps, dryers and shop tools run on 240 V. Every inverter we carry has split-phase output.
Leave room to grow. Batteries that run in parallel and inverters that stack let you add capacity later.
Hire a licensed electrician. OffGrid Nexus sells equipment only and does not offer installation. Check permit requirements with your municipality and province.
Frequently asked questions
Do you install the systems you sell?
No. We supply the equipment and help you choose it. A licensed electrician should install and connect your system.
Can you help me plan a system?
Yes. Tell us about your property, your appliances and how often you are on site, and we will suggest a kit or a set of components. We can also check whether parts you already own will work with new ones.
What warranty comes with the equipment?
Products carry the manufacturer's warranty, and we handle warranty claims with the manufacturer for you. Damaged or incorrect items can be returned within 30 days.
